The Star Wars Battlefront 2 dev team just announced the game's next update will launch on August 29. The Elite Corps Update adds new clone trooper appearances to the game, as well as a map playlist and multiplayer improvements.
The Elite Corps Update is the start of several Clone Wars-themed content drops that EA outlined in the company's planned roadmap for Battlefront 2. The biggest change in the update is the addition of new clone trooper appearances. You'll be able to customize the Republic Army with skins of the 41st Elite Corps and 327th Star Corps. The 41st is seen in Revenge of the Sith aiding Yoda on Kashyyyk, while the 327th is seen in the same movie gunning down Aayla Secura on Felucia during Order 66. Both corps play more significant roles in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
Skins are available for the Assault, Heavy, and Specialist classes of the Galactic Republic, with each going for 20,000 credits or 500 Crystals. There are also bundles that net you all three skins for a corp for 40,000 credits.
The new update also adds the Prequel Era Maps playlist to the game, which limits multiplayer matches to Galactic Assault on Clone Wars era maps. The Naboo Palace Hanger map is being added to both Blast and Custom Arcade, and Ewok Hunt is becoming a permanent game mode.

Other multiplayer improvements include a new end-of-round screen that lists your overall score, as well as your number of kills, assists, and deaths. You'll also be able to see the time of your longest kill streak and where you placed in terms of other players. Both emotes and victory poses are also now purchasable for both heroes and troopers. Hero emotes and victory poses will cost 2,000 credits or 50 Crystals each, while those for troopers will only set you back 1,000 credits or 25 Crystals each.
Although they are still not available, the update lists the prices for upcoming heroes Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku at 35,000 credits each.

The full patch notes for the Elite Corps Update will be releasing in a few days. The Battlefront 2 forum does have an initial outline of the major bug fixes, though, which we've listed below. Keep in mind, these changes won't be implemented until the Elite Corps update drops on August 29.

- Spawn positions for Rebels have been adjusted in Extraction on Jabba's Palace.
- An issue that let players reach an area behind the armor racks on Death Star II has been fixed.
- An issue that allowed a force using hero or Boba Fett to jump onto buildings on Bespin and Kashyyyk, and an unreachable ledge on Jabba's Palace has been fixed.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
The Skin Changer mod is a project to use the unofficial v1.3 patch's fake console to allow players to customize the appearance of units (as well as heroes and vehicles in the future) in Star Wars: Battlefront II. I eventually plan to include many different options for all four major factions. A v0.5.5 public beta version is currently available to download.

FAQ:
When is the next/full version coming out?
When it's done. I don't know an exact date. I can't predict the future.
Is it online-compatible?
Yes.
Can I use this with <insert mod name here>?
I originally thought it would be compatible with most mods, but I was wrong. After the release of the first beta I received dozens of crash reports. That said, it MAY still work with some mods, but all I can guarantee is that it'll work for the original, un-modded sides.
Can I add my own skins?
I hope to add that feature. No guarantees. In the meantime, you can request for skins to be added. I read all of the requests. Please note, however, that I will NOT add non-Star Wars-related skins, nor any skins including or involving mature content and/or excessive blood/gore, as well as anything that's Illegal in the United States.
Will you release the assets?
When the mod is finished, i'll release the code for it. But not most of the skins, as they are made by others and can be found elsewhere. (Don't worry, they're all publicly released skins.)
The mod doesn't work! The commands don't show up! WHY?!?
This usually means one of two things:
1. You installed the mod in the wrong place.
2. (More likely) You didn't install the v1.3 patch, or you installed the wrong version. You can find the correct version here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/pzznah47785jabb/SWBF2-v1.3patch+r129.exe
The mod crashes the game! How do I stop it?!?!?!?!?!1/1/1/1oneelevenslash1
If you are having this problem you are most likely using a side mod of some sort, probably Battlefront Evolved. Unfortunately, the only solution to this is to uninstall said side mod. If you are using the vanilla sides, than I don't know what the heck is wrong, sorry.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 mods have started to appear recently, so EA clarified its stance on how it plans to tackle the issue in the months ahead. A forum post from EA’s community management staff provides an answer most gamers should feel comfortable with.
When one user pressed for more information, an official account replied “so long as the mods do not change how the game functions and are just for visual effect then you should be OK.
“You should also be aware of our Terms of Service that you will have agreed to: https://www.ea.com/terms-of-service.”
Guiding users to the Terms Of Service is likely standard company policy, but actually reading the document does complicate the issue. Under the “rules of conduct” section, the contract states all players must not “modify any file or any other part of the EA Service that EA does not specifically authorize you to modify.” Download nokia rm-934 flash file.
In other words, while the initial forum response seems fairly cut-and-dry, EA’s legal wording on the subject is not. The ToS implies that so-called authorized files can be modded, but it never specifically outlines authorized files. Based on the confirmation above it looks like cosmetics are covered, but the loose official wording means that ruling could technically change at any time. We’d be surprised if that happened given how troublesome Battlefront 2’s first few months have been, but it’s not out of the question.
We haven’t seen any ban reports from the use of cosmetic mods yet, and that’s a good thing. Over the past seven days alone the Nexus community has created well over 100 files to offer Star Wars fans all the canon and non-canon skins and tweaks they could possibly want. Notable among those is Destauch’s “Darth Vader In Pink.” The mod, of course, is a play on previous comments made by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen that suggested “you probably don’t want Darth Vader in pink” when asked why the 2017 game doesn’t feature any character skins in its expansive loot crate system. Now if you want Vader in pink, he’s all yours in Battlefront 2’s PC version.
As for other mods in the collection, there are tweaks to remove lens flare effects and add retro character stylings that call back to 2005’s Star Wars Battlefront 2. Once the community gains more experience with how EA has structured the game files, the number of options is sure to grow.
If you’re afraid of modding, or are playing Battlefront 2 on a console, the only solace you have is that datamines suggest DICE has worked on or is working on ways to introduce character cosmetics to the game. Unfinished menus feature various skins for troops in nearly every class. The selections may not be as wild as a pink Vader, but they’ll definitely add some variety to the battlefield if and when they get released.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The mods referenced above only work on PC.
Do you think EA will remain open to allowing cosmetic mods in Star Wars Battlefront 2? What kind of mods would you like to see? Tell us in the comments section!
Star Wars Battlefront 2 Skin Mods
Battlefront is on the brain. There's still months to go before DICE’s Frostbitten reboot of grand-scale Star Wars-fare hits monitors, but the (carefully choreographed) bits seen so far are exciting stirrings of trading hot laser, lightsaber, and explodey death in both familiar and new worlds. Ten years has been quite the wait.
Beyond jetpacking Rebel rocket troopers and anti-aliased Endor tree bark lies a fleet of expectations. A smooth launch and low bug count wouldn’t hurt, but hey, we’re PC gamers—let’s toss modding support right on top of the pile. While EA thinks about that (”don’t hold your breath,” says my Force-powered 8 ball), 2005’s Battlefront 2 still hosts a small but fiercely dedicated community and a legion of intricate mods. If that’s not enough worthiness for your Steam library, it’s also stupidly cheap as of writing (until May 7) at $3/£2, so picking up the base game is an inexpensive first step. GameSpy is no more, but external lobby programs such as GameRanger and GameMaster keep multiplayer breathing.
If you’re just looking for the grand slam of what Battlefront 2’s mods offer, consider installing the Conversion Pack, its patch, and the unofficial 1.3 game update. That combo provides a sizable content boost to most modes with minimal deviation from stock army-on-army gameplay, but plenty more choices await your consideration in this gallery. As a rule of thumb, keep the 1.3 update installed when configuring mods, as many of them won’t work without it.
